On 12 November, 190+ attendees from various educational institutions
participated in “The Future Trends in e-Learning Technology in the Middle East
and Africa” one-day forum organized by Integrated Solutions for Business
jointly with its strategic partner Blackboard. The event was held at the Zain
e-Learning Center, University of Bahrain and offered a platform for ISB to
showcase their latest delivery methodologies for education to a large business
audience, and to the growing numbers of ICT-curious individuals.
The forum brought together academics and users from leading institutions
throughout the region to share best practices and discuss new ways in which
e-Learning platforms can enhance teaching and learning.
The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Education, H.E. Dr.
Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, and began with welcome address by Mr. Abdulaziz
Alsania, ISB President, followed by a keynote speech from Richard Horton,
addressing the changing nature of e-Learning technology and the promise it
holds for the future. Project NG demo was presented by Blackboard Channel Sales
Manager, Nicolas Klotz. Various other sessions were delivered by ISB
consultants addressing topics such as lecture capture and instructional design
using Blackboard technology. ISB and Blackboard met with senior officials from
the Bahrain Ministry of Education, The Royal Police Academy, Egyptian Samiram
and the applied Science University of Bahrain, discussing future plans for
potential business collaboration.
Withmore than 40institutions throughout the region currently running their
e-Learning programs using Blackboard technology and ISB professional services,
it is clear that institutions across the Middle East are turning to technology
to advance their educational missions and goals.
